Accountant – Canada & USA Operations
About Us

We are a growing company expanding operations across Canada and the United States. With many accounting workflows already automated, we are looking for a highly detail-oriented and tech-savvy Accountant to support financial operations, reconciliations, and complex accounting and tax matters that require manual oversight and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Operations
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using QuickBooks
Handle Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
Prepare and schedule vendor payments
Maintain accurate classification of transactions and ledger entries
Reconciliation & Reporting
Perform reconciliations for:
Bank accounts
Credit cards
Payment platforms
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and edge cases
Assist with:
Monthly financial reporting
Quarterly reports
Annual financial statements
Tax & Compliance Support
Support Canadian tax compliance activities including:
GST/HST
Payroll remittances
Year-end filings
Assist with U.S. accounting and tax-related tasks as the business expands
Process Improvement
Suggest and implement improvements in accounting workflows
Support optimization of automated accounting systems
Work comfortably in a highly technology-driven environment
Requirements
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (mandatory)
Experience in:
Bookkeeping
Billing and invoicing
Reconciliations
Financial tracking
Ability to troubleshoot accounting discrepancies and non-standard cases
Comfortable working with automation tools and financial technologies
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Excellent communication and ability to work independently
Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience required
Startup or small business accounting experience is an advantage
Nice-to-Have Skills
Knowledge of Canadian tax systems
Familiarity with U.S. tax regulations
Cross-border accounting experience (Canada / USA)
Experience improving accounting automation workflows
Familiarity with payment platforms and reporting tools
